The 50501 movement—short for "50 protests, 50 states, 1 movement"—aims to mobilize over 11 million people, representing 3.5% of the U.S. population. This figure is based on the idea that significant political change becomes possible when 3.5% of a population engages in sustained, nonviolent protest.
The movement began as a grassroots initiative to protest the Trump administration's policies, including concerns over government downsizing, human rights, and economic issues.
